Beverly Ann McDonald, 95, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025.
She was born July 16, 1929 to Virgil H. Sr. and Jennie M. (Scott) Smith in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Central High School in 1947.
Her professional journey was marked by dedicated service at Einbender’s until 1987, then at Joe Opticians from 1992 to 1995, and finally contributing her talents to Merle Norman until retirement. Beverly's participation in community was highlighted by her leadership as past president of the Southside Lioness Club. A devout member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she nurtured her faith and fellowship among her congregants.
Beverly's leisure time sparkled with the joy of bowling and dancing, but her most cherished moments were those spent with her beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Virgil Smith, Jr.; brother, Albert Smith; sisters-in-law, Wanda Jo Smith and B. Marie Smith.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Hogan (Donna) and Sue Dickens (Larry); grandchildren, Jacy Guy (Chris) and Eric Dickens (Niki); great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Dickens, Skylar Dickens-Guy, Taylor Dickens, Caily and Nolan Guy; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
