Kansas man injured after he falls asleep while driving

BROWN COUNTY—A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Tuesday in Brown County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Anthony L. Geist, 56, Sabetha, was northbound on Acorn Road one half mile north of 170th Street.

Geist stated that he fell asleep while driving. The SUV traveled  off the roadway into the west ditch, striking trees before coming to a stop.

EMS transported Geist to the hospital in Sabetha. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
