David Scott Sears 59, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 in a St. Joseph, MO hospital. He was born February 28, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Judith and Earl Sears.
He married Sherrie Hamm on December 23, 1982, and she survives of the home. He worked at Peach Tree Door, was a department of corrections Officer, and most recently he worked as a Truck Driver for St. Joseph Petroleum. David loved watching his son race at the dirt track, spending time with his grandchildren, and he loved his church, the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
David was preceded in death by father, Earl Richard Sears.
Survivors include: wife, Sherrie Sears of the home, mother, Judith Sears of Saint Joseph, MO, daughter, Ashley (Dakota Sutton) Sears of Wathena, KS, sons, Brent (Ashley) Sears and Jeffrey Sears both of St. Joseph, MO, sisters, Lori (Steve) Haynes and Kimberly (Tracy) Noland, and brother, Rodney (Laura) Sears, grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brooklyn, Gracie, Elie, David, Brenton, and Makiah.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 11:00 am, Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life following the funeral service at Cornerstone Baptist church 2710 S Belt Hwy St. Joseph MO.
