Scott Lee Ritzinger, 71, of Smithville, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2026.
He was born on August 1, 1954, to Harold Lee and Donna Lael (Zimmerman) Ritzinger in Cape Girardeau, MO. Scott grew up and lived in the Kansas City Northland, MO before moving to Smithville, MO.
Scott was a member of the Teamsters Local #541 for 38 years. During that time, he was employed by Damon Pursell Construction and George Shaw Construction. He later advanced to the position of business agent (BA), which he held until his retirement in 2017. Scott met many people throughout his career that resulted in numerous life long friendships.
Scott’s pride and joy was his 1961 Chevy Impala. He loved attending and participating in many classic car shows. His passion for his car was evident with the numerous awards and trophies he won over the years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as hunting and fishing.
Scott is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lee Ritzinger; his parents, Harold and Donna Ritzinger; his brother Daniel Ritzinger; and his niece Danyel (Ritzinger) Williams.
Scott leaves behind many beloved family members and good friends to cherish the memories they made with him.
