Mound City boys’ basketball standout Tony Osburn announced his commitment to Division I University of Nebraska-Omaha Wednesday.
Osburn committed to the Mavs over interest from North Dakota State and UMKC. Other schools like Lipscomb, Navy and Wofford expressed interest in Osburn, who averaged 27.5 points per game, and amassed 2,000 career points as a junior.
Osburn shot 41 percent from three, averaged 4.1 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 3.3 assists per game as a junior to help the Panthers to a state runner-up finish in the 2020-21 season.
Osburn will have a signing ceremony at the school in November.
