Two from St. Joseph injured after motorcycle strikes animal

ANDREW COUNTY—Two from St. Joseph were injured in an accident just before 9:30p.m. Saturday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster driven by Kristen S. Harden, 54, St. Joseph, was southbound on U.S. 71 just north of CR 149 five miles north of Savannah.

The driver attempted to avoid an animal in the road. The motorcycle began to skid and struck the animal.

Andrew County EMS transported Hardin and a passenger 28-year-old Sarah R. Hogan of St. Joseph to Mosaic Life Care. They were not wearing helmets, according to the MSHP. 

The MSHP did not report what type of animal was involved in the accident.
