Peggy Elliott-Calhoun, 86, passed away on October 17, 2024, at the home of her daughter Debbie in Dekalb, MO.
She was born September 3, 1938 to Homer and Bernice (Hathaway) Haskey. Peggy graduated from Lafayette High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to John Paul Elliott Sr. in 1957. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. In May of 1999 she married Glenn Calhoun.
She worked for HD Lee for 7 years. She later worked at Red Lobster, retiring with 20 years of service. Peggy and her late husband also owned and operated a restaurant in Elwood Kansas named AJK. Her passions were spending time with her family, playing cards, dominoes, cooking and sewing.
She was a past member of Caring First Assembly of God and a member of Grace Evangelical Church in St. Joseph, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Delores Williams, Rose Fowler, Pat Alvery, brothers Richard Haskey and Steven (Frank) Haskey Ill and granddaughter Katherine Ann Tanner.
She is survived by husband, Glenn; daughters Margie (Louis) Long, Debbie (Kenny) Tanner, son John Paul Jr. (Nikki) Elliott, step-daughter Susie (Jim) Jarrett; grandchildren John Eric (Tracie) Shepard, Justin Shepard, Jared (Rose) Shepard, Kyle (Heather) Tanner, Amy (Jimmy) Marriott, Hannah Elliott; step-grandchildren Nathaniel (Alyssa) Jarrett; 15 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister Carol Scholtz; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Stacie Felix; and good friend, Debbie Crist.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Ridgeville Cemetery, Amity, Missouri. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
