Lonnie G. Taylor, Sr., 73, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024.
He was born July 16, 1950 in Osborn, Missouri to Arthur and Velma (Gordon) Taylor. He grew up in Osborn, where he was a record-holder in the shot put at Osborn High School.
Lonnie loved to hunt, raise beagles and bird dogs, and fish, especially at Pony Express Lake.
He was a Christian man who loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Lonnie also had an ornery side, always joking and teasing his family.
Lonnie had a huge impact on all who knew him and has left many lasting memories. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy Shepherd, Jack Taylor, Mary O’Connor, and infant brother, Arthur Edward Taylor; and beloved dog, Delilah.
Survivors include his children, Wendy Cochran (Ralph), Kim Cochran (Kevin), Lonnie G. Taylor, Jr. (Colleen), McKenzie Taylor (Cody), Jalyn Taylor and Mary Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including Jimmy Joe Shepherd, cousins, other extended family members and friends.
