Next weekend, residents will have the opportunity to view several museums in St. Joseph for free, during Free Museum Day hosted by St. Joseph Museums.
On Saturday, September 19th, select museums in St. Joseph will open their doors for residents to come and visit, walk through, and see museums they might not have seen for years during the day. One of the participating museums will be the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art.
Director Eric Fuson says there's been a great turnout for Free Museum Day, since the St. Joseph Museum Association continued doing the event, after previously participating Smithsonian's Museum Day event.
"We have all the museums, Patee House and Jesse James are the only ones who don't participate in this one, but all the rest of them do including the Children's Discovery Center this year, so we are really, really excited," Fuson says on the KFEQmunnity show. "We have a great turnout, you can tell there's people that say this is one of my favorite days because we just grab the family and go from one museum to the next and have a blast."
Along with free admission into the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art, there will also be activities at the Museums Education Center, with hands on art projects for kids. The museum will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 19th.
