Rhonda Lee Sturm, 88, a longtime resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her home.
She was born on October 13, 1935, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Virgil F. and Katherine M. (Nelson) Ward. She graduated from Savannah High School.
She married James L. Sturm on November 18, 1979, in Forest City, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Rhonda worked at Methodist Hospital as a nursing tech for twelve years, her caring nature was a blessing to the patients she served.
In her younger years, Rhonda enjoyed being outdoors, either fishing or gardening. She liked to complete puzzle books and drawing. She was known for her creative doodles that she would show off on the kitchen table.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; son, Scotty Smith, and siblings, Delores Carpenter and Kent Ward.
Survivors include her children, Kathy Burt, Michael Russell, Jill Utech and Rebecca Fisher; eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
