Sarah Angela Pennington, age 63, of Atchison, KS, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, KS.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Sarah was born on July 26, 1962, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Glenn and Jean Marie (Holthusen) Lacy. She dedicated her career to serving as a para educator at Atchison Elementary School, where she worked primarily with students who had special needs and behavioral challenges. Sarah found joy in drawing and painting, watching Steeler football, bowling, and had a passion for cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. She also enjoyed cooking and especially cherished time with her dogs, Oscar and Coda.
On July 18, 1980, Sarah married Clifford Gene Pennington, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 18, 1999. She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie and Erick Chavez of Atchison, KS, and Jessica and Tom Harris of Lawrence, KS. Sarah is also survived by her sister, Sheila and Linn Rials of Lawrence, KS, and four grandchildren: Ashton and Jayden Frad, Lyam Harris, and Artemis Chavez.
In addition to her husband, Sarah was also preceded in death by her parents.
