Mary Ann Murray, age 72, of Leavenworth, Kansas, and formerly of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Cremation care has been chosen. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison, Kansas. Mary was born on September 18, 1953, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of David and Lois (Tull) Wilbourn. She dedicated her career as a Certified Medicine Technician at various nursing homes and generously volunteered her time with CASA in Excelsior Springs. Mary enjoyed reading and cooking.
On July 4, 1987, Mary was united in marriage to James “Jim” Francis Murray in Liberty, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2011. Mary is survived by three daughters: Tracy and Ted Claibourne, Jr., of Glendale, AZ; Aimee and Kevin Wattenbarger, of Olathe, KS; and Adrienne Murray, of Kansas City. She is also survived by five brothers: David, Randy, Troy, John, and Gabe Wilbourn; a sister, Mischell Herrig; eight grandchildren: Ted Claibourne III, Alan Claibourne, Austin Wattenbarger, and Jasmine Douglas; Amber Rodriguez, Nicolas Rodriguez, Emiliano Rodriguez, Ariella Murray, as well as a nephew, Garret Wilbourn. She was also preceded by her parents and daughter Elicia Collins.
