Sandra Kay Burton 1957 - 2022

Sandra Kay Burton, 64, of Bethany, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022.

On October 23, 1957 she was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Jephthah Keith and Mary Jane (Barnett) Burton.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Rev. Keith and Mary Jane (Barnett) Burton, a brother, Terry Burton, her grandparents and several uncles and aunts.

She is survived by her brothers, Larry (Brenda) Burton of Bethany, MO, Gene (Patsy) Burton of Bethany, MO, Barry (Linda) Burton of Bethany, MO, Paul (Marsha) Burton of Knox City, MO, a sister, Cindy Burton of Council Bluffs, IA, an aunt, Faye Brown of St. Joseph, MO., and an uncle, Leroy (Gayle) Barnett of Hiawatha, KS., several nephews, nieces and cousins. She also wanted to mention Patricia Smith of Kirksville, MO and Alberta Burton of Council Bluffs, IA.

She received her GED in Knoxville, IA. Sandy, as she was known to family and friends, went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and a Minor in Business.

Some of her favorite childhood memories were attending revivals and camp meetings with her Dad and Mom, where often her Dad would be the evangelist. Another fond memory was when she traveled with her Dad and Mom by horse and wagon from Bethany, MO to Nelsonville, MO which was approximately a 152 mile journey.

She was a member of the Bethany First Assembly of God Church where she helped with the worship services by running the powerpoint. Her church family was very supportive and an important part of her life as well as her good friends Marilyn Ingham, Cheryl and Greg Beugh.

She liked to work and play games on her computer, play card games with her friends, go fishing with her cousin, Rita, and attend church.

She was Faithful Until the End.

A memorial service will be held at the Bethany Assembly of God Church, Bethany, Missouri on Sunday, September 25th at 2:00 P.M. Internment will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery.
