Ernest Ray Coon, Jr., 62, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023.
He was born August 23, 1961 in St. Joseph to Ernest R. Coon, Sr. and Bessie (Foster) Coon.
Ernest married Rebecca Brown on June 21, 1982. She survives of the home.
He worked for Bradken in Atchison, Kansas for 12 years.
Ernest liked riding his motorcycle, fishing, and having coffee with his buddies in the morning. He also enjoyed watching Netflix and “Sons of Anarchy” as well as scrolling through TikTok and watching YouTube videos.
He was definitely a man of his word who would help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Hilery Coon; his parents; father-in-law, Charles Brown; and mother-in-law, Clara Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rebecca; children, Travis Coon and Clara Bond (Zachary); grandchildren, Hilery, Travis Jr., Brian, and Hunter; siblings, Brenda Coon and Frederick Coon; brothers-in-law, Leslie Ray Brown, Timothy Brown (Lisa), and Pierce Brown (Heidi); numerous other extended family members and friends; and his beloved cats, Nahla and Nellie.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
