11-year-old Missouri girl injured after rear-end crash

DEKALB COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 9p.m. Friday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Chevy Impala driven by Shelby L. Gibson, 18, Maysville, was southbound on MO 33 just south of Maysville.

The Chevy rear-ended a 2018 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Chersten D. Round, 32, Maysville, who had slowed due to an animal in the road.

DeKalb-Clinton ambulance transported an 11-year-old girl in the Volkswagen to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Gibson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
