The St. Joseph City Council voted to extend the current mask mandate another 30 days.
The order, in effect since September 17th, requires masks in all indoor public places. It was set to expire October 16th.
Council member Brenda Blessing, at this week's city council meeting, suggested extending the order through the end of the year.
“I don’t see in 30 days that our (COVID-19) numbers are going to drastically go down to where it was when we first did this,” Blessing says. “I just think we should try to do it to the end of the year instead of coming back every 30 days.”
The council voted 6 to 2 to extend the mask mandate another 30 days, through November 16th.
