The 18th annual Radio-A-Thon to benefit Camp Quality kicks off bright and early on Thursday.

Gregg Lynn and JoeTown 107.5 will be on location at Sav-On Furniture Mart broadcasting live all day.

Lynn says Camp Quality is a camp for kids who have cancer and are going through treatments or have gone through treatments for cancer.

"It's a week-long summer camp where they get to have normal summer camping experiences like fishing, and boating, and swimming that they don't get to do any other time of the year, some of these kids are very, very sick," Lynn tells KFEQ/ St. Joseph Post. "They also offer year-round support for the kids and their families."

The annual event has raised over $300,000 in its history.

Lynn says what continues to drive him back to supporting Camp Quality, is how amazing the kids that go to camp are.

"If you get to go out to camp and spend any time with them, you would think maybe it's kind of depressing, but it's not, it's really the most fun place in the world to see these kids come out of their shells and really light up and get to have fun, maybe for the only time of the whole year," Lynn explains.

Lynn says the goal during the Radio-A-Thon is always to raise as much money as it can.

"Kind of the benchmark is right around $20,000, most years we raise around $20,000 for camp, so hopefully we'll get way past that this year," he says.

Lynn says the drive will be live and on air from 6am to 5pm Thursday at Sav-On Furniture Mart.

"We'll have food trucks, music and fun, and just a ton of stuff going on," Lynn explains. "You can call the pledge line that day at 816-232-CAMP."

You can also donate at Sav-On. Lynn says people can also donate online anytime at JoeTown1075.com
