Mary Kay Reid, 75, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. She was born May 1, 1948 in Amity, MO, daughter of Elizabeth and Herman Parsons. She graduated from Maysville High School, class of 1966. On August 23, 1969, she married Marvin Reid Jr. in St. Joseph. Mary Kay was an excellent cook. She loved working with flowers, watching her game shows and spending time reading the Bible and the book of Mormon. Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Marvin Reid Jr.in 2020, sisters, Evelyn Mapel, Marjorie Leslie, Jean Ann James, and brother-in-law, Milt Berger. Survivors include sons, Marvin Reid, III of St Joseph and Chris (Kathy) Reid of Peculiar, MO, sister, Betty (Jim) McIntosh of St. Joseph, sister-in-law, Sharon Berger of Kansas City, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home with Interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to American Diabetes Association.
