Jonathan Patrick Benedict, 46, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023.
He was born on June 21, 1977, to Justin P. and Maureen E. (Murray) Benedict in Dothan, Alabama.
Jonathan graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, and later graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Westwood University. He studied computer programming and computer forensics.
He joined the United States Marines Corps, proudly serving his country working as a crew chief and helicopter pilot. Jonathan was a dedicated servicemen and made his family very proud.
Jonathan enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and watching Nascar. He loved talking about all things racing with his dad.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, Justin and Maureen Benedict; brother, Justin Price Benedict, Jr. (Erica) of Iowa; sister, Jennifer Elaine Castor of St. Joseph; nieces, Mattie Ann and Deklyn; and nephews, Mason, Cougar, Linken and Wyatt.
Cremation under the direction of Simplify Cremations & Funerals. The family will gather with friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, Simplify Cremations & Funerals.
