Most high school basketball teams have the night off Wednesday, but there is one critical area matchup in girls’ hoops.

The Bishop LeBlond Eagles are headed to Maryville to face the Spoofhounds. The game is set to start just before 7 p.m.

St. Joseph Post will be there and we’ll have full coverage on our site later this evening.

The LeBlond Lady Eagles, who are ranked No. 6 in Class 2, have been idle since Jan. 19 due to COVID-19 protocols. At 12-4, LeBlond has won their last three games in a row, most recently winning at Falls City 41-39. They had to sit out the Richmond Winter Classic last week.

Maryville, meanwhile, is fresh off of a Cameron tournament championship and just beat Lathrop Tuesday night, 60-43.

The Spoofhounds are 15-1, led by Kansas State commit Serena Sundell, who averages close to 30 points per contest. Their lone loss came in December to still undefeated Platte Valley.

The LeBlond/Maryville matchup was originally scheduled for Jan. 21.
