Teen from Gallatin hospitalized after violent pickup crash

DAVIESS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 9:30a.m. Monday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1998 Ford Ranger driven by a 16-year-old girl from Gallatin, was northbound on Highway CC five miles southwest of Gallatin.

The driver lost control on the snow and ice covered road. The pickup traveled off the road, struck a culvert, became airborne, struck a utility pole, a tree and overturned.

Daviess County EMS transported the teen to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol did not release the driver's name.
