The Kansas City Current have extended goalkeeper Clare Gagne's contract for one year, keeping her with the team through the 2026 season.
Gagne, a young talent who joined the team from the collegiate ranks from the University of North Carolina where in 2024 she won a national championship, has shown dedication and resilience in her recovery from a head injury.
Despite not playing in the NWSL during her rookie season, Gagne provided depth for the team's goalkeeping unit, which achieved impressive records in the 2025 season. Gagne expressed excitement about continuing to grow and compete in Kansas City, highlighting the supportive environment and talented teammates.
“I’m incredibly excited to be staying in Kansas City for another year,” said Gagne in a news release from the team. “This is a special environment to grow in, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to train and compete alongside such talented players and the most wonderful people. The support I’ve felt throughout my return-to-play journey has meant everything to me, and I’m proud to continue representing this club and community.”
