Gary Wayne Dozier, 67, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born March 21, 1956 in Fairfax, MO, son of Joyce and Melvin Dozier.
He attended South Holt High School. He married Carla Angst on February 10, 1989 in St. Joseph. Gary worked as a Carpenter for many years. He was a great artist and he enjoyed wood working, fishing, and mushroom hunting. On April 3, 2023, Gary made the decision to give his life to The Lord.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Dozier.
Survivors include wife, Carla Dozier of the home, his mother, Joyce Dozier of St. Joseph, children, Chastity Cogdill of Henrietta, MO, Chad Dozier of St. Joseph, Zack Angst of St. Joseph, Amber (Josh) Vice of St. Joseph, and Andrea Dozier of St. Joseph, siblings, Danny Dozier (Sandy Bennett) of St. Joseph, Debra Dozier of Muskogee, OK, Lola (Kenny) Paxton of St. Joseph, John Dozier of Oregon, MO, and David Dozier of Platte City, MO, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and expecting another great-grandchild soon.
A Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 pm Friday, November 3, 2023 at Rupp Funeral Home led by Rev. Kenny Paxton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday at Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Dozier will be cremated following services.
