BUCHANAN COUNTY —A St. Joseph man suffered moderate injuries after his pick-up went airborne from Mitchell Avenue and landed on I-29 in St. Joseph.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by 56-year-old John D. Davis of St. Joseph was traveling east on the Mitchell Avenue overpass early Friday evening when he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The patrol reports the pickup went off the left side of Mitchell, went airborne, and landed on the southbound lanes of I-29 where it went into the median and struck a guardrail.
Buchanan County EMS transported Davis to Mosaic Life Care. He was properly restrained, according to MSHP.
