ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas teen on new charges after a second arrest in seven months.

On Tuesday, police arrested Kaleb S. Marshall, 18, Leavenworth, on a District Court warrant for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

In August, officers responded to the Walmart Store at 1920 U.S.73 in Atchison to investigate a theft, according to Wilson.

It was determined that a Marshall, had stolen $221 in merchandise that included a backpack and clothing.

The suspect left the area in a vehicle. Authorities issued an alert for that vehicle and a short time later sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle at 262nd and Ottawa Road, according to Wilson.

Officers arrested Marshall for the theft at Walmart and subsequently found methamphetamine on his person.
