Marilyn Ann Meyer 1940 - 2024

Marilyn Ann Meyer was born in Atchison, Kansas on August 4, 1940 to Robert Charles Miller and Ida Maxine (Litchliter) Miller. She attended school at Washington School in Atchison, and later St. Joseph’s Academy in Omaha, Nebraska.

In 1959 she married Garry W. Meyer. They made their home in Oregon, Missouri and became parents of six children. They later divorced.

Marilyn worked for the City of Oregon for 26 years as the City Marshall. This was a job she truly enjoyed.

Marilyn passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at a St. Joseph care facility. She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Garry; their daughter, Sherri Meyer; half-brothers, Michael and Terry Miller; and great grandson, Jaxon Livingston.

Survivors include her children, Vincent N. Meyer, Lenexa, Kansas; Amy Huntsman and John, of Savannah, Missouri; Julie Turner and Terry of Stewartsville, Missouri, Lee Ann  Szymanowski, and Daren of Marion, Iowa, Rosemary Hansen, Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Jayleen Meyer, Gladstone, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Aaron Huntsman, Taylor Ireland, Emily Huntsman, Aubrey Zimmerman, Tyler Turner, Blake Szymanowski, Claire Szymanowski, Jolie Meyer, Shea Meyer, Reese Hansen, Campbell Hansen; 15 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Barb Miller.

Marilyn enjoyed reading books, and watching her game shows and cooking shows. She also had a love of crime TV and listening to Paul Harvey.  She never knew a stranger and was always willing to help those less fortunate than her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
