ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an accident and made an arrest.
An officer on patrol discovered a damage vehicle and tree in the 400 Block of Kansas Avenue in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Investigators determined 29-year-old Colton Dunaway, 29, Atchison, struck the parked vehicle and a tree and left the scene.
Police located him a short time later in the 400 block River Road. He was charged with leaving the scene, driving while suspended, and expired tag and issued notices to appear in Municipal Court.
On Monday, police arrested Dunaway on a Jackson County Kansas warrant for failure to appear in court.
