Communites remember events of 9/11 on 25th anniversary

As the country remembers the tragic events that occured on September 11th, 2001 for the 25th anniversary, local communities and entities will be hosting events to honor the day that shook the world.  

Today, starting at 8am, the Center for Military and Veteran Services and the Center for Service at Missouri Western State University is sponosoring a stair climb at Spratt Memorial Stadium.  MoWest students, faculty, staff, as well as community members, military service members, veterans, and first responders are invited to climb stairs in remembrance of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center and honor the victims, first responders and heroes of September 11, 2001.

The City of Maryville will also be holding a public event, beginning at 10am at Franklin Park.  During the ceremony, Main Street will be closed from 7th to 9th Street.  The city will use the day to bring residents together for a day of remembrance and unity.
