The first day of the MSHSAA State Track and Field meet from Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City was completed Friday with multiple area athletes medaling in field events and many more qualifying for finals in running events Saturday.
The top eight placers in each event receive medals, while the top eight placers in prelims qualify for finals.
Running event finals and a number of field events are set to take place Saturday. Field events start Saturday at 9:30, with running events starting at 11.
