Duane Lee Nauman, 94, Mound City, MO passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in St. Joseph, MO.
Duane was born July 25, 1931 at the home of his parents.
He was a member of the Minnesota Valley Methodist Church, and was always interested in his pet dogs and horses.
Duane attended the Bellevue High School and participated in basketball and baseball. Bellevue had quite an outstanding basketball team for such a small school.
Following his graduation from high school in 1949, Duane worked at the Crouse and Ideker car dealerships in Mound City, Missouri, doing odd jobs, and helping his father with the farming operation. In 1950, he joined the Air National Guard in St. Joseph, Missouri, with his brother, Glen.
Duane worked at the Ford Car Plant in Claycomo, and the Leeds Chevrolet Car Plant in Kansas City, Missouri, during the winter months and farmed with his father the remainder of the year from 1953 to ca 1956. From 1956 to 2026, Duane farmed full-time for his parents and himself.
Duane became a member of the Mound City, Missouri, Methodist Church after leaving the Minnesota Valley Methodist Church when it closed.
He enjoyed playing cards and marble games with friends and family and teasing the grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Gale Ball(Ralph), daughters in law, Linda Nauman and Maree Nauman; 8 grandchildren, Kerri (Mike) Rodriguez, Blake (Jamie) Nauman, Michael Nauman; Katrina (Sean) O’Farrell, Brice (Carma) Ball, Mark Ball, Rebecca (Ryan) Quinn, Victoria (Thomas) Liffrig; 15 great grandchildren, Eryn(Austin), Austin, Grant(Kaitlyn), Abigail, Chase, Alexis, Kaylee, Ben, Caroline, Charlie, Carson, Lucy, Jack, Charlotte, James; 2 great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Judah; and his niece and nephew Glen(Mary) Nauman, Jr. and Nancy Nauman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Martha Ann Nauman, son, Duane Austin Nauman, son, Doyle Nauman, brother, Glenn Nauman, Sr. and his sister Barbara Nauman.
He was a member of the Mound City United Methodist Church and American Legion Paul P. Shutts Post 121.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 11:00 AM Monday, March 30, Mound City United Methodist Church. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City, Missouri. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family suggests donations be made to Mound City United Methodist Church or the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
