Nancy Helen Berges 1974 - 2024

ONAGA – Nancy Helen Berges, 49, of Onaga, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at her home.  

She was born December 22, 1974 at Fort Riley, the daughter of Freal and Kim Kum Sun Frazier. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1993, attended Barton Community College in Junction City, then received her degree in Computer Information Systems from Friends University in Topeka. She served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1994 to 2001.

Nancy worked with computer systems, starting with Morrill and Janes Bank in Onaga from 2006 until 2015, she worked for Kansas State University from 2016 to 2022, and then for Community Hospital in Onaga for a year.  

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Onaga, the Altar Society at the church, and had taught Religious Education classes at the church. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2468 in Manhattan.

She married Jonathan Berges on September 2, 2005 at Blaine. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Xavier Berges and Beau Berges, and a daughter, Vivian Berges, all of the home, her parents, Freal and Kim Frazier, Junction City, her father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Debbie Berges, Onaga, a sister, Kathy Strand, and her son, Carl Strand, Jr., Kansas City, two brothers-in-law, Michael Berges (Erica), Hays, and their children, Jackson, Noah, and Isaac, and Daniel Berges (Jami), Frankfort, and their children, Claire, Calvin and Caralynn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22nd at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial with Flag Presentation will follow in the Onaga Cemetery. Nancy will lie in state from 12 Noon until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.
