Linda Darlene Hale, KiWeBa, 79, of Mayetta, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 11, 1945 in Topeka, the daughter of Louis and Pearl Herrick Hale.

Linda was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Drum Religion.

She had lived for many years in Wisconsin, where she worked as a physical therapy assistant.  After moving back to Kansas, she was a bus driver’s assistant for Head Start.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alan Hale and Louis Hale, Jr., and four sisters, Julia Deener, Cecilia Hale, Anita Hale and Joraine Tuckwin.

Survivors include two nephews, Martin Deener and Eric Deener, and many cousins.

A Supper and Wake will be Wednesday evening, August 6th at the Dance Ground Building, west of Mayetta.  Burial will be Thursday morning in the Matwe-Shobney Cemetery.  Linda will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.
