Barbara Lee Thomas, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024.
She was born on August 3, 1930, in Dekalb to Leon T. and Amanda J. (Frakes) Strong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James E. Thomas, her daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Rick Frizell, her sisters Dora Dean Pitts and Faye Martin, and her brother Leon Strong.
Barbara dedicated her life to her family as an attentive and loving homemaker. She is survived by her children, Carl (Peggy) Boyer, Vicki (Steven) Palmer, Deborah (Stan) Moore, and a legacy of 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Also, by her brother Glen (Donna) Strong and sister Karen Stafford.
She was married to James from March 3, 1963 to March 8, 1997.
Barbara was a proud and an active member of the Central Christian Church, Barbara’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her enthusiasm for life was evident in her past involvement with bowling leagues, and she delighted in the simple pleasures of reading, boating, and playing games on her iPad.
She enjoyed marking important occasions with her girls night group.
She lived a full life marked by devotion to her family, passion for her interests, and her faith.
