Wilbur V. Bunse, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on May 16, 2024. He was born on February 14, 1932, in Andrew County, Missouri to Julius and Wilhamenia (Jann) Bunse.
His commitment to public service was evident throughout his 23-year tenure as a dedicated fireman before he continued his professional path at Altec for two decades, from where he eventually retired.
Wilbur married Barbara Ann Kapp on February 20, 1953.
He is survived by his wife; children, Pamela Clark and Paula Bunse; grandchild, Tami Holman (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Presleigh and Haleigh; great-great-grandchild, Hayven; numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilbur is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Loris, Charles, and John Bunse, and Minnie Haenni; and son-in-law, Steve Clark.
A soul of deep faith, Wilbur served as a Deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he found great joy in fellowship and worship.
