Man from Amazonia hospitalized after van strikes utility pole

ANDREW COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 10p.m. Wednesday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Connie S. Harter, 52, Amazonia, was southbound on Route K two miles north of St. Joseph.

The vehicle traveled off the east side of the road, became airborne, struck the ground, traveled up an embankment and struck a utility pole.

Andrew County EMS transported a passenger Keith D. Harter, 52, Amazonia, to Mosaic Life Care. Connie Harter refused treatment at the scene. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
