James William Thomas, 93, of Kansas City, MO passed away January 11, 2026.
He was born on August 26, 1933, to Leo Roy and Mamie (Teeple) Thomas in Kansas City, MO where he grew up and graduated from North Kansas City High School.
On August 21, 2003, he was united in marriage to Willetta Lee Baker. After their marriage they lived in the Kansas City area.
Jim was a member of the Fairview Christian Church in Kansas City, MO. He retired from Turner School District as the Maintenance Supervisor. Jim loved being on his boat, flying and he enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lilly Ione Thomas; his parents Leo Roy and Mamie Thomas; and his sisters Judy and Norma Jean.
Jim is survived by his wife Willetta Thomas; step- sons James (Beverly) Ford and Chris (Anna) Jordan; step-daughter Cindy (Paul) Nicks; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; his sister Eileen Bennett; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 15th at Fairview Christian Church, 1800 NE 65th Street Kansas City, MO 64118.Burial to follow service at 1:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery 8302 Maplewood Ln. Lenexa, KS 66215. Donations may be made the American Cancer Society.
