Laura Lee Ripper, 92, of St Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at a Olathe, KS care facility. She was born June 17, 1932 in St. Joseph, daughter of Hattie and Elroy Hiskey. She married Daryl on St. Joseph. She worked at Big Smith and Stetson Hat Co. as a seamstress. She enjoyed loved to dance, going to Eagles Lodge and the casino. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her late husband Daryl. She was a very loving and caring person and occasionally stubborn and feisty, and her family was one of her greatest pride and joys. No matter how bad she felt, she always wanted to help and take care of others.
Laura was preceded in death by husband, Daryl Ripper, father, Elroy Hiskey, mother, Hattie Hiskey, son, Mitchell Wayne Ripper, brother, Edward Hiskey, brother, Galen Hiskey, brother, Walter Hiskey, brother, Wayne Hiskey, sister, Verla Jean Newton, sister, Florence Adams, sister, Mary Iva Banks, sister, Marie Falkenbach. Survivors include daughter, Joni Ripper of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Brenda (Ray Olivarez) Ripper of Kansas City, KS, grandson, Joshua (Bernadette Asher) Silvey, granddaughter, Leisha Lewis, grandson, Nate (Susan) Rainez, granddaughter, Nichole (Gary) Sumner, granddaughter, Heather (Miles) Curran, granddaughter, Courtney (Jordan Lester) Ripper, grandson, Corey (Shelby) Ripper, grandson, Tyler (Samantha) Reynolds, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
