The Board of Governors at Missouri Western State have unanimously approved a contract extension for President Elizabeth Kennedy.
The three-year extension keeps Kennedy, who became President at Missouri Western in February 2021 after previously serving as the interim President, in St. Joseph through June 30, 2027.
“The Board of Governors appreciates Dr. Kennedy’s leadership of Missouri Western State University,” said Rick Ebersold, Board of Governors chair in a news release from Missouri Western.
“The partnerships that she has created and strengthened on campus and in the community have laid the foundation for Missouri Western’s continued success.”
“I am honored and humbled by the Board’s confidence in me, and eager to continue the good work that we have begun,” President Kennedy said. “This decision also reflects the Board’s confidence in all of our faculty, staff and students, whose hard work and dedication make Missouri Western the great place that it is.”
Kennedy was named Missouri Western’s sixth president in February 2021, after serving six months as interim president.
