Carolyn Sue 'Susie' Harris 1934 - 2024

She was born to Roy C. Harris and Doris J. Jones Harris on a farm in Dearborn, MO on June 16th, 1934. She Attended Camden Point Schools and graduated in 1951. She loved music. She was nominated Queen of the Football Team in high school. She was know as 'Susie'.

Susie married Alvin Ames in 1952 and one son was born, Rick Ames. She later married Charles Anderson. They had one son, Chuck Anderson.

She loved her country music and loved to dance. She worked at several different jobs and found her true passion, tending bars. Susie worked at 'Red Lion' Lounge in East Hills for several years. Then worked at CG's Connection for 12 years. She bought and operated her own around 1989, which she called 'Susie's Place' for 23 years and then retired.

She leaves the loves of her life, her beloved sons, Rick Ames and Kathy of St. Joseph, Mo; and Chuck Anderson and Jonna of Wallace, Mo. She leaves her beloved partner of the home, Bob Larabee. She had three grandchildren; Devvan McGinnis and Kip of Union Star, Mo; Quentin and Whitney Ames of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Four Grandsons; Oliver, Charlie, Freeman and Sonny. Drew Ames and Kara. Two Grandsons; Nels and Oaks. Three sisters; Betty Mosser of Saint Joseph, Mo; Louise Taylor of Platte City, Mo; and Wilma Shanks of Camden Point, Mo.

Susie Leaves many good friends behind, Linda Patton. She and Linda were good buddies for many years. Also, Linda Bloss and Beverly Robertson were her good friends and many more.

Susie belonged to the Christian Church in Camden Point, Mo.

Visitation will be held for Susie at our Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, Thursday, June 20th, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow the visitation. Internment at Union Cemetery Friday, June 21, at 10:00 A.M.
