Local police agencies ran a helicopter operation Monday night that lead to 118 vehicle stops along with 20 arrests.
Police Captian Jeff Wilson says the police have been running these operations for at least three years.
"The idea behind the operation is to let offenders know out there that are willing to commit crimes that put people in danger such as fleeing from police, that were out there," Wilson tells St. Joseph Post. "That we will be running these operations and we will do our best to apprehend you if you so choose to do this."
During the operation, there were 42 written citations, 82 warnings, eight state warrants, and seven city warrants served, as well as resisting arrest cases and drug possession arrests.
Wilson says this was a successful operation.
