The Missouri Basketball Coaches’ Association just released their first high school basketball rankings of the 2021-22 season this week.

Area teams that made the rankings are listed below.

Class 1 boys - Mound City is ranked #2, with Stanberry #7. The Panthers are coming off of a state runner-up finish from last season.

Class 2 boys - North Andrew checks in at #4. The Cardinals finished fourth at state last season.

Class 1 girls - defending state champion Platte Valley is #1. Stanberry checks in at #9.

Class 2 girls - Bishop LeBlond is #5.

Class 3 girls - Mid-Buchanan is #10.

Class 4 girls - Benton checks in at #4, and Maryville checks in at #7. The Cardinals topped Maryville for a district title in March and went on to finish fourth at state in Springfield.
