Benedictine professor elected Kansas Board of Healing Arts president

Benedictine College chair of the Department of Political Science, John Settich, has been elected president of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.

Settich has been a member of the board since 2010.

Settich is a graduate of St. Benedict’s College and earned a masters in public services management from DePaul University, and a doctorate in public policy and political science from the University of Illinois.

Settich has held numerous governmental and military positions.

Dr. Thomas Estep, who has been a surgeon in Wichita for 33 years, has been elected as vice president.

The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts licenses and regulates most healthcare professionals in Kansas, including more than 31,000 healthcare providers in 16 different professions.
