Dennis A. Woodcock 1964 - 2023

Dennis A. Woodcock, 59, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home after a long battle with brain cancer. Dennis was born May 24, 1964 in St. Joseph, son of Creta and Glenn Woodcock. He spent much of his youth on his granddad's farm in Pattonsburg, MO with his brother Steve and uncle Wendel and cousins Debbie and Theresa. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1982, and he served in the US Army from 1982 to 1986.  He married his wife Debbie Woodcock on May 20, 1989. Together they enjoyed many years of attending their children's activities, Royals games, and road-trip travel. Dennis' favorite direction was to go on any 2 lane or gravel road. He had a great love for sports. He enjoyed softball and golfing with friends. Coaching with their "baseball family", his sons team the St. Joe Astros, attending his daughters volleyball games or choir performances, and watching her as a cheerleader. He loved the Royals, Chiefs, NASCAR, Classic Rock, and his dogs, Liberty and Lulu!Dennis had worked at several industries, most recently as a stacker at Johnson Controls/Clarios until he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, and became disabled and unable to work. He was a member of the IUE-CWA Union Local 86116. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Carol Woodcock, sisters, Sue and Ellen, and both paternal and maternal grandparents, and his niece, Shawna.  Survivors include wife, Debbie, children Megan and Jacob Woodcock, sister, Glenda (Orville) Fulk, brother, Steve Woodcock, and mother-in-law, Mary Ellen. Step-sisters, Peg Heup Pillsbury and Diane Gibson, aunt, Connie Culver, uncle Wendel, cousins, Debbie and Theresa, nieces Kris and Stacy, and nephew, David.Dennis has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. There will be no services at this time, but the family will plan a gathering in May around his birthday. He will be inurned with his mother, granny and granddad at Oak Ridge Cemetery, near Pattonsburg.
