Willis Ross October 15, 1944-March 19, 2026

Willis E. Ross, 81, King City, MO passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his home.

He was born on October 15, 1944, the son of Mitchell and Susie (Shimel) Ross.

Willis worked for many years. He supported his sisters after his parents separated. He worked for different farmers, two in Clearmont, MO and one in Osborn, MO for Jim Cline. Then he moved with his mother up to King City and worked for Herb Derks until he got sick and was let go. Then he went to work for Larry Slayden until he was diagnosed with cancer which progressed rapidly. He went through chemotherapy and radiation which helped but then it came back in other spots throughout his body. He then came home on hospice before his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kay Foster and Lorene Russell.

Willis is survived by his sisters, Mary Kartcheske, Cape Fair and Wilma “Winnie” Ross, King City and many nieces and nephews are too numerous to mention.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO. Burial will follow Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, MO.
