Northwest and Missouri Western suffer basketball schedule changes

With under a week left until the start of the MIAA basketball season, both Northwest Missouri State University and Missouri Western State University have had to make some changes to their schedule against a common opponent

In the opening week of games both Northwest and Missouri Western were set to play in Tahlequah, OK, Northwest on November 19th and Missouri Western on November 21st

The Northeastern State RiverHawks's men's basketball program is enduring positive COVID-19 cases causing the delay in the men's game's.

  The Northwest Missouri State University's men's basketball season opener at Northeastern State University has been postponed until Dec. 31 at 1 p.m.

The Missouri Western men's basketball game at Northeastern State  has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 8th at 3:00 p.m in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  

While the men's program has had struggles with positive tests, the women are still set to play, but tipoff times have been moved up slightly.

The Northwest women will play their season opener in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on Nov. 19. The tip time has been adjusted to 6 p.m. While the  Missouri Western women's basketball game will go on as scheduled on November 21st with a new start time of 1:00 pm.  

Missouri Western is set to open up their season in Claremore, OK against Rogers State on Thursday November 19th with the women tipping off at  5:30 pm and the men tipping off at 7:30

The Bearcat women and men will play Rogers State University on Saturday, November 21 with the women's game tipping off at 1:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3:30 p.m.
