Linda Mae Dydell, 73, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026.

She was born August 11, 1952 in Highland, Kansas, to Walter and Dorothy (Stillman) Irvin. She grew up in Highland, and graduated from Highland High School, where she and her sister, Mary, were track stars, setting records that remain today.

After high school, Linda embarked on a 47-year career as senior clerk in customer service for St. Joseph Light & Power, which later became Evergy. She was a dedicated employee until her retirement in 2019.

Linda lived her faith as a dedicated, faithful member of Foster Memorial Church of God in Christ in White Cloud, Kansas, until its closing. She then was active in the Reach Ministry choir.

In her earlier years, Linda and her former husband, Michael, enjoyed playing on a co-ed slow-pitch softball team. Later on, going to garage sales was her thing, always keeping an eye out for unexpected treasures.

Above all, Linda loved people. She was always kind and generous to others, never boasting of her good deeds. Her world revolved around her kids and grandkids, earning the name “Grandma” to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyron Rushing; and siblings, Mary (Irvin) Patterson, Cheryl Hopkins, Esther Ginn, Doyle Irvin, Sr., Keith Irvin, and Richard Irvin.

Survivors include her daughters, Amber, Felicia, and Aisha Dydell; bonus son, Bryan Briscoe; grandchildren, Ariel, D’Marcqus, Xavior, Amari, Amaya, Alyssa, Moriah, Zielle, Tanyah, Maiyah, and Jyzzaiyah; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin and Roger Irvin; former husband, Michael Dydell; other extended family and friends.
