Area counties in Missouri, Kansas see increases in COVID-19 cases, deaths

Kansas and Missouri saw another jump in COVID-19 cases and deaths, with several area counties reporting new cases and deaths as well.

Mosaic Life Care reported 57 COVID-19 patients Thursday, which is down seven from the day before. St. Joseph has 54 patients, while Maryville has 2 and Albany 1. Mosaic has tested 59,427 patients - 7,609 of whom have tested positive.

The City of St. Joseph Health Department reported three new COVID-19 related deaths Wednesday, bringing the total number of deaths in Buchanan County to 124.

The three new deaths were all females with underlying health conditions - two in their 80’s and one in her 90’s.

The Department also reported 58 new cases of COVID-19 in Buchanan County Wednesday, bringing the county’s total to 7,977. The number hospitalized stands at 58, which is down four since Tuesday.

Andrew County reports 20 new cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, bringing their total to 1,539. Andrew County's death rate remains steady at 15.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports 670 cases Thursday - an increase of 14. Atchison County, KS reports 1,178 total cases as of Thursday.

Statewide, Missouri reports 376,811 total cases (3,231 new) Thursday, resulting in 5,294 deaths (34 new).

Kansas reports 209,689 total cases (5,089 new) and 2,507 total deaths (59 new) as of Thursday.
