Carlene D. Bachman, 67, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
She was born February 4, 1959 to Leonard J. “Blackie” and Patricia L. (Williams) Bachman in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Carlene attended Neely Elementary, St. Patrick for 7th and 8th grade and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1977.
Throughout her working years, Carlene served in several places where her dedication and strong work ethic were evident. She worked for Roberts Dairy, where she contributed her time and effort with reliability and pride. She later became part of Mosaic Life Care Radiology, where her presence was valued among coworkers and where she continued to demonstrate her commitment to doing her best. In later years, she worked at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital, a setting that reflected her deep affection for animals and her compassionate nature.
Carlene was also a former member of South Park United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and a sense of belonging.
One of the greatest joys in Carlene’s life was the love she had for her pets. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed all of her animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and one bird, she loved each of them dearly. Her pets brought her happiness, companionship, and comfort, and she treasured the special bond she shared with them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard “Blackie” Bachman; grandparents, Lorraine and Glenn Townsend, Roy Williams, August and Opal Bachman.
Survivors include her mother, Patricia Bachman; brother, Scott Bachman (Kristi); stepchildren, Charlie McCartney, Jr. and Cody McCartney; and numerous cousins.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 20, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph.
