With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Taji Laborada, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on September 24, 1938, in Tehran, Iran, to Tooran Boreiri and Ali Asghar, Taji was the youngest of three siblings and the cherished sister of Iran Boreiri and Hosein Boreiri. She carried with her a radiant spirit, sharp wit, and a fierce devotion to her family and faith throughout her life.
In 1964, Taji received her cosmetology license in Iran, a milestone that blossomed into a decades-long career. She brought beauty, confidence, and care to both men and women through her gifted hands and generous heart. In 1984, she opened Taji’s Beauty Salon, which became not only a local fixture but a source of pride and joy for over three decades. She poured her heart into her work until she courageously closed the salon on August 31, 2017, following a stroke.
Beyond the walls of her salon, Taji also dedicated over 20 years of service to Saint Mary’s College, where she built lifelong friendships with the sisters of the college. Each week, she would lovingly do the hair of the nuns, bringing joy, dignity, and beauty to their lives. Her time there was filled with connection, laughter, and grace—a true extension of her heart.
Taji married the love of her life, George Laborada, on February 5, 1964, in Tehran, while he was stationed in Iran with the United States Army. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to resilience, humor, and enduring love. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, hard work, and unwavering devotion.
Taji was preceded in death by her beloved husband George and her great-grandson, Quentin Laborada.
She is survived by her devoted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild: Mary Laborada, Dennis Laborada, Debbie Laborada, Kevin Forde, Omid Laborada, Ellie Laborada, Isaiah Forde, and Ava Laborada.
Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Davis Funeral Chapel from 10 to noon.
