ATCHISON COUNTY, MO. —Two people were injured in an accident just before 10p.m. Tuesday in Atchison County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Peterbilt semi driven by Bryce J. Stuchlik, 39, Wahoo, NE., was eastbound on U.S. 36 at Interstate 29 in Rockport.
The semi struck the towed unit of a 2018 Chevy Equinox driven by Darwin C. Houghton, 72, Tarkio, that crossed both lanes of traffic while making a westbound turn onto U.S. 136 from Interstate 29.
Atchison-Holt ambulance transported Houghton and a passenger Georgia M. Houghton, 70, Tarkio, to Fairfax Community Hospital. Stuchlik was not injured. An air ambulance later transported Darwin Houghton to University of Nebraska Hospital. All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
